Trauma is the description of a painful event that profoundly alters the course of your life. Therapy is about story telling.
In my approach to therapy I strive to integrate these two ideas.
My goal is to establish a partnership with you, that will enable you to create your personal story, in which the trauma that you have suffered will no longer be a defining event in your life.
Instead, it will be transformed into a painful incident in your past, that you are able to recall without being emotionally triggered. In order to accomplish this I use a variety of techniques, including EMDR, recognized as “best practices” for treating trauma.
Although trauma is my area of expertise it is not the only psychological disorder I treat. I have also succesfully treated people who suffer with a variety of other problems including depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. I also help individuals effectively cope with grief and loss. I see individuals aged 5 to 65, as well as couples and families.

I am a clinical therapist and have been in private practice in Anchorage, Alaska since 2006. Prior to entering private practice I worked for a variety of agencies in Anchorage including Southcentral Foundation and Alaska Children’s Services.
I came to Anchorage from Sitka in 2000. Prior to that I lived and worked in Fairbanks where I worked with Tanana Chiefs Conference as a Substane Abuse Prevention Co-ordinator. In that position I had the priviledge of traveling extensively through Interior Alaska visiting most of the Athabascan comminities.
In 2011, I had the opportunity to work for the United Nation as a Staff Wellness Consultant in South Sudan. It was my responsiblity to provide Psychological first aid to United Nations Staff working for the UN Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan.
I am now associated with Greatland Clinical Associates.
I provide a wide range of therapy and counseling services in Spanish and English.
I draw from an eclectic mix of therapeutic techniques trying to find the approach which best meets the needs of the patient.
I provide Individual, couples and family therapy, as well Play Therapy with children whenever appropriate.
